Privacy and terms of use
Sofyana is built for children. We collect the bare minimum, we sell nothing to anyone, and there are no ads.
What we keep
- Student account: a username (a first name or nickname is enough), an encrypted password, the school grade and the chosen avatar.
- Parent account: a username, an encrypted password and an email address, used only to confirm the account and to reach you about your account.
- Progress: the exercises done, whether the answer was right, time spent, stars and the homework a parent assigned. This is what powers the dashboard.
- Searches: the text typed in "Find an exercise", kept 90 days to improve the content, then deleted. Photos are never stored.
What we do not do
- No full name, birth date, address, school or profile photo is asked for.
- No ad trackers, no third-party analytics, no cookies other than your login session.
- We do not sell or share data with anyone for commercial purposes.
Who sees what
- Data is hosted in Canada (Toronto) and encrypted in transit.
- "Find an exercise" sends the text or photo to an external AI service to recognise the skill, then shows the result. Do not include names, faces or personal information in a photo.
- A parent sees the progress of the children linked to their account, and nothing else.
Your rights
You can delete an account at any time from the Profile page (student) or the dashboard (parent, including linked children's accounts). Everything is erased immediately. For any question, or to request a copy of your data, write to bonjour@sofyana.app.
Terms of use
Sofyana is a maths practice tool. It complements school, does not replace it, and guarantees no academic result.
A child account is created by a parent or guardian, or with their permission. By creating or linking a child account, you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian.
Sofyana's exercises, explanations and code belong to us. You may use them for your family; commercial reproduction is not allowed.
The service is provided "as is" during its launch phase. We may change or discontinue it; parents will be notified by email before any shutdown.
